Q.
Is there a are charge for the BrainNet.org service?
A. There
is no cost for anyone to register for the service or for the
information they receive. Occasionally, organizations
may want to make you aware of
a product or service that's
being
made
available
to our
members that may have a cost associated with it. In that case,
you will first be sent an offer which you may accept or ignore.
Q.
If the BrainNet.org service is free to those who register,
who pays for the information I will receive.
A. Providers of information usually have a responsibility
or obligation to distribute educational materials and have budgeted
for these projects. Others may want to make you aware
of special offers and use marketing dollars to have information
this sent to
you.
Q.
How secure is the information I provide?
A. Very secure.
-
First,
the registration form is encrypted as you fill it out and
then as it's transmitted to the application server. The second
part is very important.
-
Next,
many times during the day, the information collected
via the website is removed from the web server via a secure
connection and then stored on a
server that is not accessible via the Internet. This information
is protected via a security system and video surveillance,
and is not in our offices.
-
Finally,
when the data is prepared for sending you information, only
the name and address information is provided to the mailer.
At this point no personally identifiable
information is attached.
You can find out more by reading our Privacy
and Security statements.
Q.
In reference to part 3 of the question above, doesn't the
provider of the information get my name and other information?
A. No. If an organization wants to distribute relevant
information to our members, they tell us whom the information
is best suited
for and then give us the information to send out. Once you receive
it, it is your option to respond if it's an offer or to contact
them directly for more information.
Q.
What kind of information will I receive and how will I receive
it.
A. From time to time, you may receive the following,
Q.
What make BrainNet.org
different? Many websites provide
information.
A. Most other websites focus on offering a web portal or a site where
you can go read information. Maintaining these sites takes
a great deal of resources. Looking for and then sending you relevant
information
is not their first priority or sometimes what they do at all. They
want to be virtual companies, not physical companies.
Looking
for and sending you information, is all we do.
